The Creative Compass

The Learning Design Compass has been adapted from my Creative Compass model which is what I gradually developed for design and creative projects, based on over fifteen years of practical experience working in a range of fields such as learning design, innovation, advertising, and service design roles. The Learning Design Compass is generally the same structure but relabelled to make it more tailored for education. It also incorporates Bloom's Taxonomy for assessment, as this is probably a pedagogical model most are familiar with, and in the age of artificial intelligence it actually proves useful when designing assessments that either use AI or mitigate against it.

Now, I don't like the word 'pedagogy'. Not for its inherent meaning, but because academic language just adds a barrier and pretence to education when in reality learning is just Story > Discussion > Play > Reflection > Story and so on, round and round. It's best to keep things simple and that's how this resource has been written. Hopefully it helps you but if there's anything missing or you have any questions or problems you'd like help with, please feel free to contact me: davidcalummillar@gmail.com or connect via LinkedIn.
